From surgical support to global health transformation: Meet Courtney Hauschild
World Telehealth Initiative’s team is growing to help support our quickly expanding programs. Meet Courtney Hauschild, people person, clinical support specialist, and World Telehealth Initiative’s new Program Associate.
Courtney's understanding of healthcare delivery's intricacies and her desire to make an impact propelled her to join forces with World Telehealth Initiative. After earning her Master’s in Business Management, Courtney began her career in medical device sales. She distributed spine hardware and implants and supported surgeries in the operating rooms that used them. “Working in the healthcare space showed me many of the nuances that come with receiving care. My colleagues outside of the United States opened my eyes to the realities of life without healthcare access for many people across the globe.”
Courtney wanted to continue her career in the MedTech space by joining World Telehealth Initiative because “making an impact is something that truly fulfills me.” She was “immediately drawn to the amazing mission of World Telehealth Initiative. Quality healthcare is a basic human right, and WTI is giving more people the opportunity to claim that by transforming health care globally—and it is incredible to be a part of.”
Courtney helps manage World Telehealth Initiative’s daily program operations, trains healthcare providers to use telehealth technology, and supports our Southeast Asia and Western Pacific programs. So far, her “favorite part of the job has been working with on-site providers and witnessing their excitement to utilize our amazing technology. Our site partners are so resilient and willing to do whatever it takes to care for their community despite many challenges—it is truly inspiring.”
Since joining our team in February, Courtney's unwavering commitment and infectious enthusiasm have been instrumental in transforming the lives of healthcare providers and patients, cementing her as a wonderful asset to our organization.
