World Telehealth Initiative has an unprecedented capability to transform healthcare access for low-resourced communities. Our programs are made possible through our network of philanthropic physicians, telehealth technology, and collaboration with other global health organizations. We connect volunteer medical specialists with clinics and hospitals in underserved areas, to provide quality healthcare, upskill local providers, and build the capacity of their health systems for patients today and future generations.
Our network of volunteer physicians
World Telehealth Initiative’s network of medical specialists donate their clinical expertise to provide quality healthcare to underserved communities. Access to a global telehealth system enables physicians to volunteer in short blocks of time from their office or home. This eliminates the time and cost barriers of traditional medical missions and dramatically increases the number of physicians who can participate.
Telehealth technology
WTI is fortunate to partner with Teladoc Health, which donates its telehealth technology to our programs. With the highest levels of network performance and high-definition cameras with 26X zoom for detailed close-up examinations, our volunteer physicians can remotely evaluate patients and consult with clinicians across the world. The technology is designed to manage highly variable network conditions and requires low bandwidth to operate, which is ideal for remote locations.
