Robert Skinner

Board of Directors

Robert L. Skinner served as the Chief Innovation Officer and General Counsel for Montecito Bank & Trust, the oldest locally owned and operated community bank in Santa Barbara County, with assets in excess of $1 Billion.  Mr. Skinner is currently a member of the Bank’s Board of Directors and serves as the Chair of its Trust Committee.

Mr. Skinner serves in the capacities of Executive Vice President and General Counsel for The Towbes Group, Inc., a Santa Barbara based property management and development company.  Mr. Skinner is also a managing member of Towbes Capital Partners, LLC, a real estate investment company, and a founding member and Chief Executive Officer of Agility Capital, LLC., a venture debt fund.   

Mr. Skinner is on the Board of Directors of InTouch Health, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of Telemedicine in the clinical environment allowing physicians to deliver quality health care anytime, anywhere, and Barrister Executive Suites, Inc., a provider of fully serviced offices in Southern California for over 40 years.  

Mr. Skinner is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Marketing in 1985 and a Juris Doctorate in 1990. In 1998, Mr. Skinner was appointed to the USC Gould School of Law Board of Councilors and served as its chair in 2013.  In 2017 Mr. Skinner was appointed to the USC Alumni Association Board of Governors.

Throughout his endeavors, Mr. Skinner keeps involved in Santa Barbara charities.  He has served on the Board of Trustees of The Towbes Foundation since 1996.  Mr. Skinner joined the Board of Trustees for the Santa Barbara Foundation in 2011, serving as the chair of the Foundation’s Strategy Grants Committee and a member of the Foundation Executive Committee.   Mr. Skinner joined the Board of Directors of Santa Barbara International Film Festival in 2013.  He previously served on the Board of Directors of Camerata Pacifica and the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College.
